How do I make waves or curls out of my long, thick, straight hair?

My hair is beneath my shoulders and is usually straightened. Whenever I attempt to curl it, it only retains the shape for a couple minutes before going flat, regardless of how much product I put in it. Is there any other more natural way to do this and keep it wavy/curly for longer amounts of time without perming it or damaging it further?

Take a shower, and then put Garnie Fructis Curl Constricter Mousse in your hair.

Put your hair into foam curlers, and hairspray them in.

Sleep on the curlers.

Take the curlers out the next morning, and haorspray them again.

(Note: when taking the curlers out, to not unroll them. Simply pull the curler out from within the curl. This will help to maintain the curl's form.

well no shampoo has magic curl making ingredient, but some bring out natural curl. here are some tips:

use sunsilk for curly hair. shampoo and conditioner.

apply shampoo directly on scalp and lather for about 2 minutes working your way down hair at the very end.

apply conditioner. start from bottoms and work your way up. make sure it doesnt touch scalp because that could cause dandruff.

towel dry hair very well but dont rub hair together with towel. creates frizz and damages hair's structure.

apply briosilk oil starting from bottoms working your way up. this will help set natural curls.

to dry: brush hair ONCE ONLY then put in bun but instead of holding with elastic put giant hair claw. this will create flawless look.

good luck on htis. first time will be fabulous. if u keep doing this your hair will get more natural curl and will go away from being plain old straght. toodles!

Try hot rollers, then spray lightly with hairspray (pantene pro-v works excellent)

I used to use hot rollers. I would also spray hairspray over the rollers while in my hair. Good luck!

I have long thick hair hair too. I would say take a shower and then put my hair in a towel and twist it at the end and leave it in the towel for a while like 1-2 hours and do something like watch tv or read a book. Then take the towel out and let it ary dry. Thats what I always do. Or try a curling iron.

That

s my hair routine when I have a special event to go to like a wedding. The citre-shine shine mist is a must...it makes my hair SO shiny, and the John frieda dream curls is sorta like hair spray but it dosn't make them hard and crispy. You can get bolth of them at the drugstore.
