Help with relaxing really thick curly hair?

I have very thick curly hair (i'm hispanic) and I have relaxed it once before but it wasn't pin straight - it still had some wave in it, so I had to use a straight iron. The problem is that it takes a while to straighten it with an iron (its tedious and not fun) so I got a haircut. My hair is back to curly and long enough to get it relaxed. I want to try and relax it again, but I want it asian hair straight! So, what relaxer should I use? Any other recomendations?

If you get it relaxed in a salon, and buy a ceramic straightener (mine gets up to 450 degrees) then it should be quicker. Also if you avoid getting your hair wet, then you won't have to continually re- straighten it everyday. Get the relaxer that says it's for tough hair, (sometimes in salons they give you the weakest relaxer to avoid liability in case your hair falls out.)

hair type is not judged by ethnicity.

You should go to the hair salon. You whine up damaging your hair if you don't know what you are doing.

I know what you mean. Asian straight is pretty.

Well, the problem is even if you relax it, it wont be straight once your hair drys. You have to straighten it with a straightening iron for it to be Asian hair straight, that is THE ONLY way it will be that straight after relaxing. Or you could try using a brush and a blow dryer. But the hair straighter will probably be the only way after you relax it.
