I love my best friends curly/ wavy hair, and i would like to have hair like her......but my hair is very thick.....what can i so to get around that?????

If you want to curl your hair with a curling iron, then I would recommend using a ceramic 1" barrel curling iron. Definitely use the ceramic so the heat spreads evenly. Start curling your hair from the bottom layer up, tying the excess hair up out of the way. And continually spray VaVoom hairspray as you curl, if you wait until the end, some of the curls will have fallen due to the weight of the hair. And don't be afraid to spray a lot, your hair will still move, be very shiny, and, of course, be the envy of all your friends and turn heads!

You could tie your hair into sections like 5 or 6!! than untie one part at a time and work with it!! or you could wear a bunch of hair curlers and go to sleep!! i like to tie my hair up in a big scrunchie and go to sleep in it!! just add some gel!

That's a tough one. My mother has very straight thick hair. We call it the broomstick hair. Perms would curl it, but I don't know if you want something like that. She's used hot rollers to curl her hair. It wasn't something that lasted all day, but it was better than a curling iron. As for styling products, nothing was very good.

my hairs really thick 2 and curling irons dont work that great for me. i sit there for three hours curling my hair and it ends up looking dull and wilted. so, lately ive been sleeping in those soft curlers and i use about ten in my hair. on the package, it usually gives instructions for all kinds of different hairstyles. anyway, i sleep in them and in the morning i only brush the very top of my head cuz otherwise the curls will mess up. so i kinda run my fingers through them if i want to change from a shirley temple look to a curly/wavy kinda messy look. then i use a little hairspray and it lasts the entire day. ok well hope i was somewhat helpful!! good luck!!

Go to a Hair dresser and have it thinned out without losing any of the length. Do NOT go to a student attending cosmotology school. After it has been thinned out to your specifications, you may want to consider a perm, however I would attempt curling your hair with an iron to see if the New DO suits you prior to perming. Since your hair will still have some thickness to it, I would apply plenty of mousse after cleaning and prior to drying and curling. Section off the hair starting at the top. As you curl a section, hold it on top with a large comblike pinch clippy. Work your way down until you have completed the bottom. Remove all of the clips and let curls fall. For an added boost so the curls will stay, add some hairspray to the uncombed curls. Do not use a Super Heavy Spray. After a few minutes, PICK through your curls. Do not comb through them or you will not get the same affect. This should do the trick and you will have it mastered after completing the process a few times. Good Luck!
