Im a guy with extremely thick hair. I dunno what to do with it because I have so much. I can't grow it out because it looks bad since I have so much of it. But when it is short it is really hard to manage. is there any hairstyle that will work for me? or any recommendations to tame my hair?

I wear my hair always open at 1-3 mm. Not longer! Just to avoid things like they happen to you!

You should try and use thinning scissors to take away the thickness - the barber/hairdresser can do this for you or buy yout own and do it at home - you don't need any skill as they are designed simply to cut a few hairs at a time. I use them on my think hair and it's very long (ok so I'm a woman but what does that matter, hir is hair!). It's much easier to manage once you've thinned it out a bit no matter what length you choose.
